The Ad-Free Web Browsing Experience

It’s always a surprise to me when I am on somebody else’s computer and I see an advertisement.  I’ve become accustomed to not having any ads while browsing the internet.  The software that allows for ad-free browsing is actually free, and easy to install.

By installing the software below, and following the steps, you will be on your way to an ad-free internet.

Step 1: Install Google Chrome

If you don’t already use Google Chrome as your web browser, I highly recommend it.  It’s a great alternative to Internet Explore or Safari, and even Firefox.  Go over to chrome.google.com and download it.

Step 2: Install AdBlock

In Google Chrome, you will need to go to the “chrome web store” to download AdBlock. If you are currently browsing this page using Google Chrome, you can also click here to get to AdBlock’s page.   If you do not already have chrome, download it from the step 1, and re-open this page using it.

Once on AdBlock’s webstore page, you will click the “ADD TO CHROME” button.  Follow through the next few clicks and you will have AdBlock installed.

Finished

While using chrome, with AdBlock installed, you should see a drastic reduction in the number of Advertisements you see.  It’s worth noting that if AdBlock ever blocks pop-ups that you need to see (ex. music player), you can temporary disable it at anytime.  To disable it, you will click the Adblock symbol at the top right of your Chrome window. In the toolbox that shows up, you will have a few options on how you want to disable it.
